Just a few of my favourite street style snaps from the past month, as prints and tailoring have been my main lusts it felt right to feature these amazing images to show why or maybe just enhance my lusts.

British Design 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age

Back in 1948 London hosted the Olympic Games after the Second World War; they took place at a time when the city was over coming devastation by bombing and economic crisis. Now in 2012 London is preparing to host the games once more, a lot has changed in those 64 years and British Design plans to explore these changes.

The exhibition plans to explore the nature of British design since 1948, spread over three galleries it will look at the changes to buildings, objects and ideas. Designers featured will have been trained, born or based in Britain.

The Exhibition will look at how Britain has reacted to economic, political and cultural changes to remain innovative and a leader in creativity. It will explore not only the importance of design for Britain’s development visually but also how it has shaped the people of Britain and how we live today.

British Design 1948-2012 runs at the V&A from March 31st till 12th August and tickets start at £8 for students.

Stella McCartney Fall 2012

Stella McCartney’s latest collection is just perfect, I’ll be the first one to admit that once upon a time I overlooked her as a designer-forgive me Stella, I was wrong.

There were bright snippets of colour amongst a wash of greys and browns, just enough for autumn weather, cheery but not out of place for the colder months. Pieces were well tailored and structured in heavy knits and tweeds pushing the collection into a very smart, slightly androgynous state with wide leg trousers and shirts tucked in showing the models waists.

Print was used lightly, most affectively covered up and peaking through oversized coats and blazers, it was an accent rather than a statement. Whilst towards the end of the collection tighter fitted tops gave the impression of inspiration from surfer wetsuits, with the use of high necks and colour combinations.

Models wore blue mascara whilst the rest of the makeup was kept plain with hair swept back into a clean simple bun. The makeup mirrored the collection perfectly, basic with a punch of colour to keep the look fresh.
