Favourite Jewellery

Gold and Sliver tone collar necklaces both H&M, Rose Gold tone earrings and gold tone 'plug' bangle ASOS, Beetle bracelet Urban Outfitters, I love tea and cake earrings from Love, Hearts and Crosses (Very Old) and Cat with bowtie necklace from Jewellery by Jaymie.

This is a selection of my most worn jewellery, I have a few other bits I wear regularly but these are my favourite from what I own.

I don't really wear jewellery as much as I plan-largely because I either forget to take any to my boyfriends or leave what I do remember to take there. I like a mix of clean very classic jewellery-not too expensive though as I'm clumsy with it and quirky jewellery that people are likely to notice. I also enjoy jewellery that isn't owned by everyone I know, collars are a huge trend but I've not really seen this gold H&M one on many people.

The cat necklace is probably the thing I get complimented on the most and as a slightly crazy cat lady who can't own a cat this helps to fill that cat shaped hole.

NYFW Roundup

So Fashion has moved onto London and New York is over for another season so here's a roundup of my favourite shows and looks from New York.

 Calvin Klein
Beautiful minimal collection from Calvin Klein, the garments were ever so pinup girl but as creative director Francisco Costa stated she was also an intellectual.
Costa is said to have gained inspiration from cars for some of the dresses, he played with fabrics rather than colour- layering white lining with black mesh to create new textures on the dresses.

 Alexander Wang
Lots of leather as usual, cut outs featured on skirts, dresses and even on shoes, Wang stuck to his relaxed sportswear style teamed with sexy dresses- the floating sections held on with fishing line wire. He is easily one of the most watched designers in New York atm, hopefully he will continue to be and develop as the seasons take him.
Towards the end of the show the lights dimmed and switched to black lights to display the models in white clothing only with the garments glowing a shade of yellow.

 Oscar De La Renta
I loved this show, Oscar showed true diversity in order to show that he can adapt for any woman which works as he has dressed everyone from first ladies to Hollywood starlets.
This collection featured everything from fitted knitwear with pencil skirts to silky jumpsuits and dramatic ballgowns, so something for any woman Oscar might dress.

Prabal Gurung
I've grown particularly fond of Prabal Gurung over the past couple of seasons and I don't think I'm alone as the business has recently boomed. This collection isn't anything ground breaking but it's still very strong with good fabrics and shapes. The main silhouette used throughout the collection was one borrowed from traditional wear from Nepal- fitted jackets teamed with loose fitting bottoms.
Bit of a skirt over trousers thing happening here, it has also cropped up over several collections so we could be seeing it on a high street near you soon.

Proenza Schouler
Possibly my favourite designers here but erm I just didn't love this collection, some of it was perfect other pieces were just awful. The shapes of the skirts teamed with sleeveless jackets were gorgeous and perfectly downtown New York, however I felt that the patchwork dresses were a little too much and would look a mess anywhere but the catwalk.
The mixed print dresses however were stunning and will no doubt be seen on the red carpet at some point soon.

 Rodarte
Rodarte looked towards Medieval and fantasy role-playing games for this collection, as Game Of Thrones is big news in all social circles atm this collection was sure to be a hit.
The structured floral tops are very similar to designs from Balenciaga, the sisters have clearly looked to other designers as a reference point but I still enjoy it as a whole.
I love the heavy slightly metallic knits over mini dresses, tbh this collection is very similar to what I had in my head back in college when I was going to base my final around Armour so it makes me miss design a lot.

 The Row
This collection shows that the pyjamas as outerwear trend isn't ready to die just yet and that skirts over trousers is definitely going to be a trend next season (really?), whilst skirts over trousers bring back horrid memories of Lycra pedal pusher come skirt hybrid I wore as a child, The Row showed a much sleeker version which look far more glamorous.
Mary-Kate and Ashley sure know how to do minimalist luxury.

Victoria Beckham
You've probably seen thousands of reviews telling you this collection is Victoria's best yet so I won't bang on about that. The collection however is very strong and Ms Beckham continues to prove she can do fashion. Classic clean lines without excess detailing on the garments, according to Style.com Victoria Beckham has been spending a lot of time with her customers in order to give them exactly what they want, dismiss her as a designer all you want she clearly has a strong business head on her.

Makeup Products I Love at the Moment

Topshop Liner, Paul & Joe Face powder, Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation, Benetint, Collection 2000 concealer in Fair, They're Real Mascara, Sleek Contour Kit, MUA Mosaic Blush, Laura Mercier Primer.

This is pretty much what I've been wearing on my face lately, I treated myself to Benetint a couple of weeks ago when boots had an extra points event- accidentally also bought the They're Real Mascara-the sales assistant was lovely though even if she did take all my money.

As you can probably tell I've going quite natural on the makeup lately-fresh skin, tons of mascara and a simple eyeliner flick with just lipbalm or Benetint on the lips.

MUA Haul and Review

So I went to Superdrug about a week ago and snapped up some MUA products, I'm usually much more of a high end product girl- okay a bit of a snob sometimes but I love this range plus as it's Superdrug's own brand I assume there is no animal testing involved.

They had a few new products out the week I went as well so I picked them up

 Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit- £3.50

 A new product from MUA,
Love this brow palette, I even like the little brush it comes with- the tweezers aren't the best and don't really grab small hairs but they are tiny and would probably come in handy if that's all I had.
The two top colours for the shaping of your eyebrows are great for me, I use the lightest shade mixed with a tiny bit of the darker shade and then the wax to fix them. I'm not really fond of the highlight shade as it looks a bit too peachy on my skin but for £3.50 it's not really a big deal.

Intense Kisses Lipgloss in Stolen Kisses £2

This is another new product from MUA, I've not tried the basic range lipgloss as I'm not a huge lipgloss person but this colour was lovely and very similar to a Models Prefer one I had a long time ago and can no longer get.

The gloss itself isn't sticky at all which is perfect for me but I find it's a little runny, it's hard to apply neatly but a lighter shade might not be such a problem. I've not worn this outside of my house as I'm a bit scared of it ending up all over my face but the colour is pigmented and lasts a long time-even when it fades there is a nice stain like shade remaining.

 Extreme Felt Liner- Black £2.50

I love felt tip style liners, I have the Topshop one which I love but sometimes it just decides to be dry and unworkable. I've only had this about a week so I can't comment on how long it takes to dry up but right now I'm loving it. It creates a thin line, very black and lasts on me for about 8 hours. It can smudge just as it's applied though so unless you want it all over your face let it dry before doing other stuff

 Lipstick in Shade 4-£1

I love MUA lipsticks, I first tried one when the brand launched and fell in love with the quality, this was my 9th lipstick- this one however isn't as great as the others I own. It's a lovely colour both in the tube and on the lip, it's just not what I was expecting but hey for £1 you can't complain.

As I spent £8 I received this  Immaculate Collection palette free, as when bought alone it costs £8 it's a brilliant deal and I have always been tempted by it.
The eyeshadows are really good quality and whilst most of them aren't colours I'd really wear, I'm sure I'll find a use for them
Creamy texture, good pigment but they smell cheap kinda like talcum powder which puts me off a bit but they won't be going near my nose so once on I'm sure that won't be a problem.

JW Anderson X Topshop- Pictures

A while ago Topshop announced they would be collaborating with JW Anderson to create an a/w collection, the pictures of the collection were launched last week, in this post I show you my favourite pieces and outfits from the collection.

My favourite pieces are the cat eye jumper and the spider print skirt as they the most wearable for me but at just under £70 each I expect I won't be seeing them in my wardrobe anytime soon, whilst other things in the collection are lovely it'd be impossible for them to fit into my wardrobe.

The collection launches this Friday (14th) and is available online and selected stores.

OOTD Paralympics Day Four

So last Sunday once again my mother and I had tickets to the Paralympics, this time the athletics so it was exciting to visit the park-even if it meant getting up at 5. We saw loads of stuff including GB get a sliver medal in long jump and a gold in discus, the atmosphere during the session was amazing.

It was freezing first thing so I wore a scarf and a leather jacket, it warmed up a bit later in the day so I was able to take the jacket off.

What I Wore

Winning Gold

Mandeville dancing of course

Some of the Art around the park

Btw if by chance anyone reading this happens to be a games-maker you are all bloody amazing.

OOTD Paralympics Day One

So on Thursday my mother and I were lucky enough to have tickets to the first day of the Paralympics, we went to see the wheelchair basketball at North Greenwich Arena- which I've not been too since it was the Millennium Dome.

We got to the venue really as early, as we weren't sure what to expect with security but it paid off as we ended up front row, just behind the basket so amazing seats. I wore printed trousers from H&M and my Paralympic scarf from Next to support Team GB the best I could and I've just realised everything else I wore was from H&M.

What I wore

 National Anthem Time

About to start

The whole day was amazing, even if Team GB did lose their game. We got to see three games throughout the day and the arena had a good mix of supporters so whilst it wasn't full the atmosphere was amazing throughout.
