Whilst Chalayan has lost the theatrical elements of his shows, the clothes are still conceptual so the true Chalayan shines through. This collection, which Chalayan chose to display in the form of a film, is beautifully structured in order to play with volume whilst the colour palette is kept neutral which keeps the collection wearable.
Kimono inspired gowns were draped carefully over the model’s bodies which creates the perfect balance between them and the heavily tailored menswear inspired pieces such as boxy blazers. These blazers were cut low on the chests, whilst pockets became sleeves and cropped jackets were layered over the blazers.
This is a truly timeless collection.
