Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler, Fall 2011, NYFW

These boys just ooze cool, they know style and how to dress women. I’m quite ashamed to say I only starting taking notice of Proenza Schouler a little over a year ago but have lusted over their collections since then, so I hope that makes up for it.

This season is no exception for the lusting, the boys were inspired by Native American tribal prints which were then given the magic Schouler touch to assimilate them with the signature style. Colours were their traditional jewel tones ranging from bright oranges to deeper blue hues.

Large, bulky necklaces were worn over plain black and white t-shirts and shirts often layered over jewel coloured skirts and dresses. There was a vast use of textures including velvet trimmed blazers, leather t-shirts and silky trousers. The mixture of technology enhanced prints, jewel colours and luxurious black fabrics made this a collection to desire.

Hair was worn in very loose, low ponytails. The ponytail is obviously having a moment this autumn.
